Blueberry Pie

1 cup all purpose flour

1 tbsp cinnamon powder

1 egg (beaten)

1 tbsp ghee

½ cup warm water

Pinch of salt

1 can of blueberry filling (450g)


1Preheat oven to 320°C

2Sift the flour with salt and cinnamon powder

3Add the egg and ghee and mix

4Add the warm water and knead the mixture until it becomes one smooth ball of dough

5Take about 2/3 of the dough and roll out with a rolling pin

6Place on a greased/lined pie dish

7Pierce the dough with a fork to prevent bumps in the bottom while baking

8Spread the blueberry filling evenly on the crust

9Take the remaining 1/3 of the dough and roll out with a rolling pin, then cut it into thin strips (about ½ inch in width)

10Arrange the strips in a crisscross pattern and meld the edges of the strips to the edges of the bottom crust.

11Bake at low heat for about 80 minutes (until the crust is crisp and golden)
